The best pizza in Europe is in London, and before Italians can sharpen their pitchforks, let's get this straight: Italy is formally excluded from the ranking, as it has its own dedicated list (50 Top Pizza Italia). This year's winner —and for the second year in a row—was, however, a Neapolitan: Michele Pascarella, owner of the pizzeria Napoli on the Road.
London in The First Place and Spain on The Podium
The ranking of Europe's best pizzerias was revealed during the awards ceremony held at the Fundación Pablo VI in Madrid and presented by journalist and influencer Verónica Zumalacárregui. The list of 50 Top Pizza Europe —one of the most followed guides in the world and edited by Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro, and Albert Sapere—topped Michele Pascarella, with two locations in Chiswick and Richmond. The pizza chef also managed to win the Pizza of the Year award with his "Childhood Memories," a recipe inspired by one of his grandson's fondest and tastiest memories: his grandmother's Sunday ragù. This recognition once again recognized Pascarella's mastery, as he also won the Pizza Maker of the Year in the World award in 2023 and came in fifth in the 50 Top Pizza World 2024.
The ranking continues with another true Neapolitan, Ciro Cristiano of San Giovanni a Teduccio, with his Baldoria in Madrid. In third place is another Spanish establishment, Sartoria Panatieri in Barcelona, owned by Rafa Panatieri and Jorge Sastre, and, tied for third place, Via Toledo owned by Francesco Calò in Vienna. Although Italy is not competing in the European competition, in fourth place —as with the first two—Neapolitan blood once again triumphs, and once again in London, with Ciro Salvo and his 50 Kalò. Still in Italy, fifth place goes to Tonino Cogliano and Simone Lombardi of the IMperfetto pizzeria in Puteaux, France.

How is The Ranking Drawn Up?
The list of the best pizzerias on each continent is compiled through anonymous inspections and assessments by judges located around the world. The ranking is based on their opinions, and the top 20 pizzerias on each continent—except for the Italian list, which reaches 40—automatically enter the list of the 100 best pizzerias in the world.
