INSTRUCTIONS

Add soy sauce, ¼ cup cornstarch, and flour to the cubed chicken pieces. Mix it all well and keep aside. In a pan, add lemon juice, sugar, water, 1 teaspoon cornstarch, lemon zest, and keep it aside.

Now, heat the oil for frying. Fry the chicken pieces carefully until it is evenly brown in color and crispy. Transfer the fried chicken pieces in another bowl and repeat with the remaining chicken pieces.

Now, heat the pan to cook the ingredients of the lemon sauce on medium flame until the sauce is slightly thick in consistency. Add the fried chicken pieces to the sauce and cook everything together until the sauce evenly coats the chicken pieces. Serve hot with rice and enjoy!

TIPS

You can add about a teaspoon of salt to the boiling lemon sauce if desired. Reduce the soy sauce quantity by half, if you prefer to eat slightly ‘yellowish’ colored lemon chicken. You can also marinate the raw chicken pieces with cornstarch, flour, and soy sauce for about 30 minutes.
