This recipe of chocolate lasagna is so filling and rich that you can have only a slice of this for a hearty meal to fill you up. And, you won’t even believe how simple and easy to prepare this dish is, read on to trust me!
Transfer 2 cups of heavy cream in to a large bowl. Add ½ cup powdered white sugar, ½ unsweetened cocoa powder, two teaspoons vanilla extract to the cream and give everything a nice stir until well combined. Using an electric beater, whisk the cream mixture until the soft peak stage and hold its form.
Cover and keep it aside in a cold place. Add the salted butter and cream to a pan and heat it on medium flame until it is just about to boil. Remove the pan from heat and stir in dark chocolate chips in to the hot cream. Stir the ganache well until the chips melt and the mixture is smooth in consistency without any lumps. Cover, set aside and let the mixture cool to room temperature. Open the Oreo cookies in to two halves from the center and put it in to a separate bowl.
Spread a thin layer of the cold cream mixture in a small dish in which you plan to serve the lasagna. Place Oreo halves over the chocolate cream in a single layer and spoon cooled ganache evenly over the cookies. Cover the dish with cling film and chill it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Uncover the baking dish, spread chocolate cream evenly over the cooled ganache layer followed by a layer of Oreo halves and another layer of ganache on top.
Cover the dish again with a cling film and repeat the process so that you leave about 2 tablespoons of the chocolate mix to be spread on the top most layer. Chill and spread the remaining chocolate cream layer over the ganache layer and chill the chocolate lasagna again covered for 15 minutes. Uncover, garnish the lasagna with chocolate shavings, slice and serve!
Make sure you move your hands in only one direction while you beat the cream mixture. Try to use the cold whipping cream for better results. You may reheat the ganache in microwave slightly in case the ganache solidifies while you are chilling the chocolate lasagna layers.
