Air Fryer Mushrooms are a light and flavorful side dish, perfect with meat or fish main courses, egg omelettes, or fresh or aged cheeses. Ready in just a few minutes, they're tasty yet very light, prepared in the air fryer  with very little oil, salt, pepper, and oregano. They're also ideal for sandwiches or wraps, for a wholesome and satisfying meal.

To bring them to the table, simply clean the mushrooms thoroughly, removing the end of the stem, the skin covering the cap and dabbing them with a damp cloth to remove any residual soil; then simply season them and transfer them to the air fryer basket, where they are cooked at 390°F/200°C for 18 minutes.

In less than half an hour, you'll have a fragrant and delicious dish, perfect for any family lunch or dinner with friends.

Ingredients

Button mushrooms
600 grams
extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp
Dried oregano
1 tsp
Pepper
to taste
salt
to taste

How to Make Air Fryer Mushrooms

Remove the final part of the stem, then remove the skin that covers the mushroom caps. Continue by rubbing them gently with a damp cloth to remove any remaining soil.

Cut the larger mushrooms into quarters and the smaller ones into halves.

Transfer the mushrooms to a bowl and season with extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper and dried oregano.

Proceed to mix them carefully so as to distribute the seasoning.

Transfer the mushrooms to the air fryer basket and cook them at 390°F/200°C for about 18 minutes, moving the basket halfway through cooking.

The air fryer mushrooms are ready, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Transfer them to a serving dish and serve.

Enjoy!

What Are The Best Mushrooms to Use?

We used button mushrooms, which are versatile, inexpensive, and readily available at any supermarket, but if you prefer, you can substitute them with other edible varieties you have on hand.

What Other Herbs Can I Use?

Naturally, you can flavor them with a sprig of thyme, a few needles of rosemary, some sage leaves, or your favorite aromatic herb.

How Do I Make Them Crispy?

You can sprinkle them with a light coating of breadcrumbs, perhaps mixed with a tablespoon of grated Parmesan, for a golden, irresistibly crunchy gratin.

What Can I Use These Mushrooms For?

Once ready, you can use the mushrooms to enhance fragrant bruschetta or polenta crostini for brunch time, to top a delicious pasta dish, or to make a homemade pizza.

Storage Instructions

Air fryer mushrooms can be stored in the refrigerator, tightly closed in an airtight container, for up to 2 days.
