Funfetti is officially entering its Swiftie era. Following her viral interview on her fiancé's podcast, where Taylor Swift revealed she’s been baking rainbow sourdough bread at home, Pillsbury’s iconic sprinkle-studded brand has released a new Funfetti Sourdough Bread Mix—a colorful, limited-edition product inspired by Swift’s kitchen confession and her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl.
The mix will be available at select retailers and online for preorder starting September 24th just in time for fall baking season and the album’s highly anticipated release, on October 3rd.
What’s in the Mix
The Funfetti Sourdough Bread Mix includes:
- A sourdough starter blend
- Rainbow sprinkles
- Instructions for a no-knead, overnight rise
- Optional add-ins like vanilla or almond extract for a sweeter twist
The result is a loaf that’s tangy, chewy, and speckled with vibrant color—perfect for breakfast toast, grilled cheese, or just showing off on Instagram.

The Swiftie Connection
The idea for the mix came after Swift mentioned in her New Heights interview that she’s been baking rainbow sourdough bread while working on her new album. Fans immediately began recreating the recipe at home, and Funfetti saw an opportunity to turn the trend into a product.
According to Pillsbury’s brand team, the mix is meant to “celebrate creativity, comfort, and color”—three things Swifties associate with their favorite artist. While Swift isn’t officially partnered with the brand, the timing and theme are unmistakably inspired by her influence.
Swifties and sourdough lovers alike are loving the idea. Social media posts show loaves with captions like “Taylor made me do it” and “This is my era of carbs and catharsis.” Some fans are even pairing their baking sessions with Swift’s discography, turning bread-making into a full-on listening party.
