IHOP is diving fork-first into the Dubai chocolate craze with the launch of two decadent new pancake stacks inspired by the viral Middle Eastern dessert. Starting August 4, select IHOP locations in New York City, Los Angeles, and Austin will serve up the Dubai Chocolate Pancakes and the ultra-luxurious Luxe Dubai Chocolate Pancakes, a limited-time offering that’s already making headlines for its opulence—and its price tag.
The Dubai chocolate trend began with Fix Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai, whose signature bar features crispy kataifi (shredded phyllo), pistachio cream, and tahini wrapped in milk chocolate. The flavor combo exploded on TikTok in 2024, and IHOP is now the first national restaurant chain to bring it to the breakfast table.
What’s Inside the Luxe Stack
IHOP’s Luxe Dubai Chocolate Pancakes are being billed as the most expensive pancakes the brand has ever served, valued at over $100. The stack features Dubai chocolate-flavored buttermilk pancakes layered with handmade Madagascar vanilla whipped cream, a whole Dubai chocolate bar, edible 24K gold flakes, and gold glitter. It’s a gilded tribute to indulgence, and the first 25 guests at each participating location will get to try it for free.

The Original Version Is No Slouch
For those who miss the Luxe giveaway, IHOP is also offering the Original Dubai Chocolate Pancakes for $13, while supplies last. This version includes layers of crunchy roasted kataifi, silky pistachio cream, and hazelnut spread, topped with chocolate curls and crushed pistachios. It’s a more accessible—but still extravagant—take on the viral dessert.
Fans Are Already Obsessed
The announcement has sparked excitement across social media, with food influencers and pancake lovers eager to get their hands on the limited-edition stacks. Chef Art Carl, IHOP’s VP of Culinary, said the idea came from a team member who recreated the Dubai chocolate bar in pancake form, sparking viral buzz. “We took it up a notch in the test kitchen to deliver an exciting new stack,” Carl said.
