Few events tie the global fabric together quite like the FIFA World Cup—and for over three decades, McDonald’s has held a front-row seat as an official tournament sponsor. On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, parent company McDonald's Corp. pulled back the curtain on its most expansive global sports activation to date, officially deploying its FIFA World Cup 26™ Menu across participating restaurants worldwide.
Engineered to celebrate the upcoming expanded 48-team tournament hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, the fast-food giant is transforming its menus into a multi-generational fan experience. Split into two massive drops, the campaign introduces star-studded adult keepsake cups, an unprecedented premium sauce swap, and an army of soccer-themed Happy Meal plushies.
The Adult Lineup: Nine Icons and Gold Big Mac Sauce
Starting today, Thursday, June 4, 2026, customers across the United States can order the flagship FIFA World Cup 26™ Meal. Diners can choose between a classic Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, both uniquely paired with a limited-edition gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce dip cup. For the early-morning match crowds, the promotion also extends to a breakfast lineup featuring the Sausage McMuffin with Egg or the Sausage Egg Biscuit alongside hot Hash Browns.
The true anchor driving transactional urgency for older fans, however, is the rollout of nine custom collectible cups included with every World Cup meal. Tapping into decades of consumer nostalgia for vintage corporate glassware, the collection highlights eight legendary international soccer stars alongside one internal icon:
- The Roster: David Beckham, Christian Pulisic, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies, Santiago Gimenez… and McDonald's very own certified purple legend, Grimace.

“Growing up, it was our ritual after soccer tournaments to go to our McDonald's near Hershey, Pennsylvania, for Chicken McNuggets and a McFlurry,” U.S. Men’s National Team star Christian Pulisic shared in an official press release. “Those memories were a core part of my childhood and an experience I still share with my teammates today. To now be featured on a McDonald's collectible cup all these years later is a full-circle moment.”
The Youth Movement: 23 Squishmallows Storm the Happy Meal
Following the adult launch, McDonald’s will pivot its focus to younger soccer fans and toy collectors. Starting Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the FIFA World Cup 26™ Happy Meal will launch globally.
Each order will swap standard toys for one of 23 exclusive Squishmallows™ plushies. The collection features highly sought-after Squishmallows characters alongside the official host-country mascots for the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Every plush is uniquely kitted out in colorful, tournament-inspired soccer jerseys and official McDonald's graphics.
Furthermore, the Happy Meal boxes will feature bespoke tournament artwork and a scannable QR code that unlocks an exclusive, soccer-themed digital game on mobile devices. In the United States, a portion of the proceeds from every single World Cup Happy Meal purchase will directly benefit families staying at local Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Digital Rewards and "McDonald’s FC"
To maximize repeat footprints throughout the summer tournament window, McDonald’s is leaning heavily into digital gamification. App users who order the tournament meal three separate times between June 9 and July 6, 2026, will automatically score a 2,000-point bonus deposited straight into their MyMcDonald’s Rewards accounts.
The campaign is also highlighting the brand's workforce through McDonald's FC (Fan Crew). This internal program will grant select crew members from around the world once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to experience the World Cup firsthand, ranging from cheering live at host city matches to physically stepping onto an official tournament pitch.
