For decades, American fans of the world’s most iconic hazelnut-cocoa spread have had to get creative. Whether it was freezing jars in the dorm room or DIY-blending Nutella into milkshakes, the "official" frozen Nutella experience remained an elusive treat found only in European gelaterias. That wait officially ended this week. On May 13, 2026, Wells Enterprises, in partnership with Ferrero, announced that Nutella Ice Cream is now available in freezers across the United States.

This isn't just a hazelnut-flavored frozen dessert; it is the only ice cream on the market made with actual Nutella spread. The launch is specifically designed to bring the "unmistakable Nutella taste" to the freezer aisle in two distinct, fan-requested formats: the spoonable tub and the handheld wafer cone.

The 14-Ounce Tub

The flagship of the launch is the Nutella Ice Cream Tub (14 fluid ounces). Unlike traditional pints that mix all ingredients together, the Nutella tub is engineered for a "multi-textured" experience.

When you first peel back the seal, you are met with a thick, solid layer of real Nutella right at the top. This "crust" is the signature of the product, but it requires a bit of patience. The official "How to Eat" guide suggests letting the tub sit at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes before diving in. This tempering period ensures the Nutella layer softens enough to be cracked with a spoon, allowing you to reach the velvety hazelnut ice cream and the deep Nutella swirls hidden beneath.

In a win for inflation-weary shoppers, the Suggested Retail Price (SRP) for the tub starts at just $4.36, a significantly lower entry point than many premium "super-premium" pints currently on the market.

The Single-Serve Wafer Cones

The second variety—and the one social media is already obsessed with—is the Nutella Ice Cream Cone. Designed for "spontaneous moments on the go," these single-serve treats bring a classic European wafer experience to the American home.

Each 3.04-fluid-ounce cone features a crispy, premium wafer shell filled with creamy hazelnut ice cream. But the real "main character" is the core: a rich, concentrated swirl of Nutella that runs through the center of the cone, ensuring you get that chocolate-hazelnut punch in every bite. These are sold in 4-packs with an SRP starting at $5.47, making them an affordable option for families looking for a high-end dessert.

The "Freezer Friday" Celebration

To celebrate the rollout, Nutella is launching a social media campaign titled "Freezer Fridays." Throughout the month of May, fans who tag a friend on Nutella’s official social channels have a chance to win free ice cream and limited-edition merchandise to mark the launch.
