Make this non-alcoholic party punch for your next kid’s Halloween party (or add some rum for a grown-up version). The shrunken ‘heads’ are actually roasted apples that you let your creative side loose on and give scary faces to!
The apple heads bob in the punch, which is a mixture of orange, apple, cranberry juice, lemon soda and grenadine syrup mixed in large bowl. This refreshing drink is sure to be a big hit, and the scary shrunken heads a big talking point!
Preheat the oven to 350F/160C fan/gas mark 4, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. set it aside.
Peel the apples and slice them in half. Use a paring knife to carefully carve your faces out of the apple flesh (you can let your imagination run wild here!). Put the apples cut-side down on the baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes.
While the apples are baking, put the liquid ingredients in to a large punch bowl and mix well.
Remove from the apples from the oven and allow to cool before being used in this punch recipe.
Notes:
You can add the warm apples from the oven to a hot party punch without waiting for them to cool down.
