Pro Tips

  • Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic to ensure that it will have the best texture once baked.
  • Thoroughly grease your cake pan to ensure that the bread doesn’t stick.
  • Evenly brush the brioche with egg wash so that it browns evenly in the oven.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Brioche Different From Bread?

How are You Supposed to Eat Brioche?

Brioche can be served on its own as it is or spread with butter, honey, or jam for breakfast or a snack. It is also delicious as a base for sandwiches or an accompaniment to a roast chicken dinner or hearty soup.

What Type of Pan Should I Use to Make Fluffy Brioche?

This recipe uses a round springform cake pan as it has some depth that will give the bread space to rise.

How to Store Fluffy Brioche

To keep the brioche fresh, simply place it in a sealed container or plastic bag, or place it on a platter tightly wrapped with plastic wrap. The bread should stay fresh for a few days, but for longer storage, you could also place it in the freezer where it should keep for 2 to 3 months.

How to Make Fluffy Brioche

In a bowl, whisk the flour with the cornstarch, salt, and yeast until combined. Add the butter, milk, oil, sugar, and the egg, and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover it and allow it to rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Cut the dough into portions and roll them into balls.

Flatten each ball into a circle and dip half of them in the melted butter followed by the sesame seeds.

Alternately arrange the plain circles with the sesame coated circles in a 24cm cake pan so that they form a ring and are overlapping. Set it aside to rise for 1 hour.

Brush the bread with egg wash and bake it in a 350 F (180 C) oven for 25 minutes.
