As McDonald’s fans counted down the days to the long-awaited return of the Snack Wrap on July 10, Sonic has swooped in with a bold counterattack: two new Crispy Tender Wraps, priced at just $1.99 each, and already available nationwide. The timing is no coincidence. Sonic’s wraps dropped on July 8, just two days before McDonald’s relaunch, positioning the Oklahoma-based chain as a serious contender in the fast food wrap wars.
Meet the Wraps: Cheesy Baja and Honey Chipotle
Sonic’s new wraps are part of its cheekily named “FUN.99” Menu, a value lineup where every item clocks in under two bucks. The wraps feature a crispy all-white meat chicken tender wrapped in a soft flour tortilla, layered with shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, and diced tomatoes. What sets them apart are the sauces:
- The Cheesy Baja Crispy Tender Wrap is dressed with a zesty Baja sauce, delivering a creamy, Tex-Mex-style flavor.
- The Honey Chipotle Crispy Tender Wrap brings a smoky-sweet kick with its honey chipotle aioli, offering a more assertive, tangy bite.
Both wraps are snack-sized but satisfying, with calorie counts hovering around 270–280. They’re available all day, including breakfast hours, and can be ordered via drive-thru, kiosk, or the Sonic app.

A Summer of Value and Variety
The wraps headline Sonic’s refreshed FUN.99 Menu, which also includes returning favorites like the Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Soft Pretzel Twist, and Original and Honey Chipotle Jr. Chicken Sandwiches. For those craving something sweet or icy, Small Cream Slushes in flavors like Blue Coconut, Blood Orange, and Strawberry are also part of the under-$2 lineup.
Sonic has hinted that more Crispy Tender Wrap flavors are on the way later this year, suggesting that this is just the beginning of its wrap renaissance.
