After years of fan petitions, social media pleas, and seasonal disappointment, Starbucks is finally reviving its Eggnog Latte for the 2025 holiday season. The drink, which was discontinued in 2021, will return to U.S. stores starting December 2, joining the Chestnut Praline Latte as a late-season addition to the brand’s festive lineup.
Originally introduced in 1986, the Eggnog Latte has long been a holiday staple, known for its steamed eggnog and milk base, espresso, and a dusting of nutmeg. Its absence over the past few years sparked widespread backlash, with fans calling it “the only drink that tastes like Christmas.”
The New Twist: Eggnog Cream Cold Foam
In addition to the classic latte, Starbucks is launching a new Eggnog Cream Cold Foam, a frothy topping that can be added to cold brews and iced drinks. The cold foam offers the same nostalgic flavor in a lighter, chilled format, making it a versatile option for customers who prefer iced beverages—even in winter.
The Eggnog Cold Foam joins other seasonal toppings like Gingerbread Cream, Peppermint Chocolate, and Caramel Brulée Cold Foam, expanding Starbucks’ customization options for holiday drinks.

Part of the 2025 Holiday Menu
The Eggnog Latte and Cold Foam arrive after the initial holiday menu launch on November 6, which featured returning favorites like:
- Peppermint Mocha
- Caramel Brulée Latte
- Iced Sugar Cookie Latte
- Iced Gingerbread Chai
- Cranberry Bliss Bars
- Polar Bear Cake Pops
The late addition of the Eggnog Latte is seen as a strategic move to extend excitement deeper into the season and reward loyal fans who’ve waited patiently.
Early Reviews
Taste testers at Starbucks Reserve locations have praised the Eggnog Cold Foam for its authentic flavor and creamy texture, though some note it’s sweeter than expected. The latte itself remains true to its original recipe, offering a warm, spiced profile that pairs perfectly with holiday treats.
