If you have stepped into a grocery store or a drive-thru lane at any point over the last few months, you already know that 2026 is officially the year of the citrus-cream flavor profile. From specialized soda rollouts to fast-food frozen treats, the nostalgic "dreamsicle" combination has completely taken over the summer beverage landscape. Now, the biggest coffee house chain in the world is jumping into the fray to close out the season.

Starbucks pulled back the curtain on its upcoming late-summer menu rollout. Beginning nationwide on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the coffee giant will debut an expansive Orange Cream flavored beverage lineup consisting of five brand-new drinks.

The upcoming launch spans across nearly every major beverage category on the Starbucks menu—infusing nostalgic notes of sweet orange and velvety vanilla into everything from signature cold brew and blonde espresso to premium matcha and spiced chai tea.

The Orange Cream Manifesto

Rather than simply creating a single standalone syrup, Starbucks' beverage developers have engineered distinct ways to layer the citrus-cream profile depending on the drink base.

  • Orange Cream Frappuccino®: Sweet orange and vanilla flavors blended with milk and ice; poured over a bottom layer of whipped cream and crowned with a final top layer of whipped cream.
  • Orange Cream Cold Brew: Starbucks' signature, smooth slow-steeped cold brew crowned with a bright, velvety citrus-cream cold foam layer.
  • Iced Orange Cream Latte: Smooth Starbucks Blonde Espresso paired with milk, ice, and a balanced blend of sweet orange and vanilla flavor notes.
  • Iced Orange Cream Matcha: Vibrant green matcha tea whisked with milk and ice, seamlessly layered with creamy, bright citrus flavor notes.
  • Iced Orange Cream Chai: A complex sweet-and-spicy matrix blending classic spiced chai tea and milk with a bright, zesty orange twist.

The Dandy "Road Trip" Merchandise Collab

The citrus drinks aren't hitting the bars alone. To celebrate the final leg of the summer season, Starbucks is simultaneously dropping a limited-edition merchandise collection in collaboration with the Southern California-based fashion and lifestyle brand Dandy Worldwide.

Launching alongside the drinks on July 28, the capsule collection is directly inspired by Dandy’s viral “Road Trip” hoodie. Engineered to capture a carefree, adventurous spirit, the limited-run drop will be available at select U.S. and Canadian coffeehouses while supplies last, featuring an array of custom, retro-inspired drinkware alongside an exclusive collectible summer hat.

The Ghost of Valencia Orange

While the announcement has ignited plenty of excitement across social media channels, it has also reignited a decade-long corporate grievance among Starbucks purists. Within minutes of the preview going live on Instagram, comment sections were thoroughly flooded by longtime fans demanding to know why the brand is launching dairy-heavy orange creams instead of resurrecting the legendary, highly missed Valencia Orange Refresher. Discontinued back in July 2015 after a brief two-year run, the crisp, jasmine-and-apricot-infused orange refresher remains one of the most fiercely petitioned items in Starbucks history.

“They did this and couldn't even bring back Valencia orange refreshers,” one disgruntled customer lamented online, encapsulating the bittersweet nostalgia gripping the Starbucks community ahead of the launch.

Whether you are a die-hard fan still mourning the loss of a 2015 juice base or a dreamsicle fanatic eager to try a citrus-capped cold brew, you will want to mark your calendar for July 28. These nostalgic orange pours are strictly limited-edition and will disappear as soon as the autumn pumpkin spice waves inevitably take over the menu.
