In the global echo of contemporary cuisine, TasteAtlas presents itself as an authentic taste atlas, true to its name and beloved by those who experience travel through what they put on their plates. Here, traditional guides and rankings by food experts must be set aside: the verdict comes directly from users, from their experiences and their tastings. Each country is described through its cuisine, from Italy to Peru, from Japan to Portugal, in a blend of flavors and traditions that becomes an invitation to travel. For the platform's community, exploring means above all sitting down at the recommended places and letting yourself be guided by an authentic gastronomic itinerary. As the year draws to a close and we take stock of what we have loved, discovered, and shared, TasteAtlas has published a series of rankings that seem tailor-made to inspire travelers. Not simple lists, but suggestions of destinations where culinary history becomes as much a reason to visit as monuments and landscapes. A delicious reminder for those already planning next year's travels.
Italy Tops The List of World's Best Cuisine Ranking
Like every year, TasteAtlas compares cuisines from around the world, letting what really matters speak for itself: the dishes tasted by its community. As we've explained, it's the users themselves who decide the final ranking, which, more than a list, is a quick guide to understanding which cuisines have won everyone over and which might become the next travel destinations to consider.

According to the "100 Best Cuisines" ranking, Italy takes first place, confirming its cuisine as one that knows how to combine simplicity and taste in an unmistakable way. With a rating of 4.64 stars (the maximum is 5), the gastronomy of the Bel Paese manages to bring the entire world to agreement with its dishes. Silver medal goes to Greece (4.60), one of the symbols of the Mediterranean diet made of fresh flavors and genuine ingredients from both the sea and the hinterland. Third place instead goes to Peru (4.54), the absolute protagonist of the new Latin American cuisine. In recent months, the gastronomy of this country has increasingly confirmed its position at the top of the world thanks also to restaurants such as Maido (the best in the world in 2025 according to 50 Best Restaurants) and the innovative style of some chefs: Virgilio Martinez above all.

Campania Reigns Supreme in The World's Top Culinary Regions
For TasteAtlas, regions are places where elements like geography, microclimates, and raw materials become true narratives. As they explain on their website, regional rankings reveal which corners of the planet have preserved a powerful gastronomic identity, capable of withstanding time and trends. It is precisely in these lands that the most exciting journeys often begin, those that begin with taste and end up redrawing the itinerary for the coming year.
In the "100 Best Food Regions in the World" ranking, Italian dominance is clear. First place goes to Campania (4.47) which, together with the previous ranking, becomes a result that seals a historic double that celebrates tradition, quality and passion in its dishes. In close second place is Emilia-Romagna (4.45), cradle of products that have set an example around the world (fresh pasta above all). In third place is the Greek island of Crete (4.42), the only non-Italian region in the top positions: a region that brings to the ranking the strength of the most authentic Greek cuisine, made of simple ingredients, excellent oil, clean flavours and a tradition that has managed to remain intact over time. Off the podium, in fourth place, Italy again with Sicily (4.42) which returns to push the tricolour with a cuisine that brings together history, contaminations and unique raw materials. And it doesn't end there: Tuscany rounds out the Italian group in the top ten, coming in seventh. In short, four Italian regions are in the world's top ten: a near-total dominance that demonstrates how our country's gastronomic heritage continues to shine.
