NFL superstars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are trading touchdowns for tomahawks—steaks, that is. The Kansas City Chiefs teammates will officially open their long-awaited restaurant, 1587 Prime, on September 17, in partnership with hospitality group Noble 33. Named after their jersey numbers (15 and 87), the upscale steakhouse is designed to reflect the pride, hospitality, and flavor of Kansas City, with a menu and atmosphere that scream MVP-level indulgence.
Stadium-Inspired Design
Guests enter through a dramatic tunnel meant to evoke the walk into Arrowhead Stadium, emerging into a two-story, 238-seat dining space filled with marble tables, gold accents, and dark wood finishes. The first floor features a bar, banquette seating, and a stage for live music, while the second floor offers semi-private dining and a VIP room with discreet access—perfect for celebrity guests like Taylor Swift.
The Menu: Steaks, Sides, and Signature Twists
Executive Chef Ryan Arnold leads the kitchen, spotlighting premium cuts like:
- Japanese A5 Wagyu New York Strip
- Boneless Ribeye
- 40-ounce Wagyu Tomahawk, served tableside
Steaks can be topped with lobster tail, crab, bone marrow, or blue cheese, and paired with compound butters and house-made sauces.
Other standout dishes include:
- Steak Tartare: Hand-cut wagyu with truffle aioli, crispy capers, and toasted sourdough
- Togarashi Fried Chicken: Served with hot, chive, and wasabi honeys
- 1587 Twice-Baked Potato: Smoked gouda, crème fraîche, beef bacon, chives, and black truffle
- Mahomes Ketchup Flight: A playful nod to Patrick’s love of ketchup, featuring three house-made varieties.

The Drinks: Star-Studded and Swift-Approved
The cocktail menu, curated by Michelin-honored beverage director Juan Carlos Santana, includes a martini cart for custom creations and signature drinks like:
- Kingdom Come: Casamigos Blanco, absinthe, pomegranate, and fluffy orange juice
- Showtime: Aged rum, toasted coconut, coffee, and lime soda
- Queen B: Lychee and honey vodka, inspired by Brittany Mahomes
- The Alchemy: A Taylor Swift–inspired cocktail named after her song from The Tortured Poets Department, featuring citrus vodka, dry curaçao, aronia berry, cranberry, strawberry, lime, and oolong tea4
Mahomes confirmed the tribute, saying, “We wanted to have an ode to Taylor and how important she is—not only to us but to this city as well”.
Local Love and Long-Term Vision
1587 Prime sources ingredients from regional purveyors like Shatto Milk Company, Messenger Coffee, and Boulevard Brewing Co., reinforcing its commitment to Kansas City roots. The restaurant will initially operate Wednesday through Sunday evenings, expanding hours in October.
As Mahomes put it, “We’re super excited about the steakhouse… and the hope is that it will be here long term, and a lot of people will get to enjoy it”.
