Wendy’s is embracing its inner goth with the launch of the Wednesday x Wendy’s Meal of Misfortune, a limited-time menu inspired by Netflix’s hit series Wednesday. Designed in collaboration with the show’s titular character, the meal is a cheeky nod to the macabre—complete with ominous packaging, mystery sauces, and a blood-red Frosty.

The meal drops nationwide on August 4, just ahead of Wednesday Season 2’s premiere on August 6, and will be available in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and Guam.

What’s in the Bag of Doom

The Meal of Misfortune includes:

  • Cursed & Crispy Fries
  • Rest in 10-Piece Nuggets
  • Raven’s Blood Frosty – a vanilla base swirled with dark cherry and served with a collectible Spoon of Gloom
  • Two “Dips of Dread” – randomly selected from four mystery sauces: You Can’t Hyde, This Will Sting, Grave Mistake, Nowhere to Woe.

Each item comes in packaging inspired by Wednesday Addams’ signature style—think black, purple, and plenty of dry wit. The bag itself reads: “There’s nothing happy about this meal”.

No Sauce Requests Allowed

In true Wednesday fashion, customers must surrender to fate. The sauces are handed out at random, and Wendy’s employees won’t honor requests for specific flavors. Want to try them all? You’ll need to make multiple visits.

More Than Just a Meal

Wendy’s is also launching a themed mobile game, Escape from Wednesday’s Woe, available through its app. Players can help Wendy dodge traps and earn a chance to win $10,000. The game runs through August 31, while the meal is available “while supplies last.”

A Match Made in Dark Humor Heaven

“This isn’t a typical collaboration,” said Wendy’s CMO Lindsay Radkoski. “But for a brand that’s proudly customer-obsessed and unapologetically bold, it was a match made in dark, dry-witted heaven”. Even Wednesday Addams herself chimed in: “Normally I’d be against this kind of capitalistic corporate synergy… but when the fast-food-slinging pigtailed provocateur said I could do whatever I wanted to her customers, I couldn’t resist”.
