This Taylor Swift burnaway cake has been making rounds on TikTok, and it all began with a simple cake request. Taylor Swift has inspired many with her talent, not just to become musicians and better people but to become more creative bakers.
When Toronto cake decorating account @cakesbynams received a request for a cake based on Swift's impending "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" album, they had no idea their creation would lead to an internet trend.
But that's what happened. The cake racked up nearly two million likes in just two days, and it's still going strong.
The video begins with a simple yet elegant cake with black icing and a disco ball motif. The top seemingly depicts Swift's Twitter account after she wiped it leading up to the release of "Reputation" in August 2017, and it quickly takes a turn for the scorching when a lighter sets it ablaze, slowly revealing a photo of the singer in her "Reputation" jumpsuit from Swift's Eras Tour.
The video, which features the cryptic caption, "Reputation (Taylor's version) coming soon?" set the cake on fire, and the internet followed suit. Many TikTok users voiced their support in the comments and tried to attract the attention of the cake topper herself, Taylor Swift, by tagging her account and posting comments like, "Taylor Swift, look at THIS!"
They do so because they know the gorgeous Taylor also seems to love cakes. Many can still remember her bloody blank space cake – the swifties loved it just like they love this new cake. But it's unclear if Swift herself has seen the expertly crafted cake made in her honor. Nevertheless, it has clearly brought the rest of the internet great joy over the past couple of days.
