Enjoy this delectable Chinese sweet snack preparation that is really simple to prepare. Just be cautious to get the consistency of the rice flour dough right, so that the dough doesn’t crack up when frying. You may also prepare a big batch of this filling snack at once and then store them in a clean and dry container for later use!


Boil water with sugar until the sugar dissolves. Pour this mixture over 1 cup of rice flour and mix it well until the mixture comes together to form a rough dough. Add a teaspoon of oil to the flour mixture and then knead everything to form a smooth and soft dough.

Let the dough rest covered for about 30 minutes. In a small bowl mix the peanuts with honey and keep it aside. In another small bowl, make a slurry with the remaining tablespoon of rice flour with 3 tablespoons of water. Keep it aside.

Now, divide the rice flour dough into about 10 walnut sized balls. Roll each ball slightly with a rolling pin or flatten them with your fingers to a thickness of about ¼ inch. Repeat with the remaining dough and then equally place the peanut mixture at the center of each dough section.

Again gather each ball back into an even sized ball so that it is completely sealed. Heat the oil for frying. Now, dip each smooth rice flour ball into the rice and water mixture evenly. After this, roll each ball into the sesame seeds mixture and then put it in the hot oil for frying.

Repeat this process with the remaining balls and then fry them all on low to medium flame until the balls are light brown in color. Serve and enjoy!


You may add more rice flour, if required, to get the right consistency of the dough. Roll the balls into a round shape with gentle hands.
