If you're a beer lover, including Peaky Blinders, hold on tight for this incredible news: House of Guinness, an eight-episode series that tells the story of the Guinness family, creators of Ireland's famous beer, arrived on September 25th. Distributed by the Netflix streaming platform, this new period drama is based on the true story of one of the world's most famous Irish families.

The Guinness Family Comes to The Small Screen

Same creator, same cinematography, for a story that moves from the streets of Birmingham to those of Dublin: Steven Knight, known for one of the most popular series of recent years, Peaky Blinders, returns to Netflix with a new and highly anticipated series. Set between Dublin and New York in the 19th century, the drama is based on a true story and explores the tensions and secrets of the Guinness family, one of the most famous beer brands in the world. The series begins with the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man who managed to transform his brewery into a global empire. After his death, the company is passed into the hands of two of his four children, Arthur and Edward, excluding the remaining two, Anne and Ben, from the temptations that come with such a large fortune.

And it is precisely from here that the story begins, filled with intrigue, mystery, struggles, and betrayals that will severely test the family's cohesion and the very future of the company. "It's the extraordinary story of a family that finds itself the heir to the greatest brewery in the world. They're young and they're tasked with managing this incredibly successful brand. The first priority is: not to ruin everything. And the second priority is to make Guinness even greater," Knight himself told Netflix's Tudum, the streaming platform's official partner site.

The Directors and The Cast

Alongside English creator Steven Knight, House of Guinness is directed by Tom Shankland and Mounia Akl. The cast also includes Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Fionn O'Shea, and Emily Fairn as the four siblings: Arthur, Edward, Benjamin, and Anne, respectively. Other names also arrive directly from Ireland, including James Norton, Jack Gleeson, Cassian Bilton, Hilda Fay, and Dervla Kirwan.
