Norway is certainly one of the teams to watch at the World Cup, which is currently being held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The Norwegian team earned its place in the World Cup, defeating Italy, and has been dominating the field ever since. The Federation and delegation have left nothing to chance for the expedition to the U.S.: in fact, the team will have access to all Norwegian raw materials. Indeed, particular attention has been paid to nutrition, to allow the players to maintain their eating habits. The quantities are exorbitant: around 661 pounds of fish, including a large amount of salmon, a full 249 pounds of brunost, the quintessential Norwegian cheese, and over 6,000 oranges, mainly intended for the preparation of fresh juice.
Norway's World Cup Starts at The Table With Plenty of Local Food and Top Chefs
Norway's baggage for the United States is packed. In addition to the foods mentioned, there's also plenty of chicken, large cuts of meat, pasta, rice, and potatoes, all designed to withstand the American heat. But there will also be those who can transform these raw ingredients into balanced dishes, suited to the demands of facing the World Cup. Among those leaving for the States, in fact, are also prominent chefs such as Aron Espeland (Olympic champion with the Norwegian national team in 2020), Eirik Tufte, and Christian Karlsson, head chef of the national team since the 1990s. As the newspaper VG.no reports, Karlsson has reportedly begun planning the menu for a year. The chefs are responsible for preparing four buffets a day, in line with the training plan of Stale Solbakken's (the coach) team.
The national team is staying in Greensboro, North Carolina, a state on the east coast of the United States where temperatures can reach 95°F/35°C. For this reason, nutrition will play a crucial role: a proper diet can allow you to withstand the intensity of training and stay properly hydrated, without losing focus in important moments.

Erling Haaland's Curious Diet
The face of the Norwegian national team, Erling Haaland is among the world's best footballers. The Manchester City striker is among the most anticipated players at this World Cup, thanks to his technique and leadership, which make him one of the most dangerous attackers around. The rock-solid centre-forward, in addition to being renowned throughout the football world for his skill with the ball at his feet, has in recent months captured the interest of a wider audience with his diet. In the documentary "Haaland: The Big Decision," the footballer opens up, even revealing some details about his unusual diet. It's not a typical sports diet, but it has nevertheless brought excellent results so far.

His daily requirement, reportedly, is 6,000 calories. How does he manage to reach them? Haaland eats lots and lots of meat: he's, for example, a huge consumer of tomahawk steak. Also called brontosaurus steak, the tomahawk is a giant steak obtained from the front of the beef loin. "People say meat is bad for you, but which one? The meat you're mocking? Or the local cow that eats grass right next door? I also eat the heart and liver," the Norwegian said. Furthermore, to meet his needs, Haaland resorts to chicken, pasta, fish, and vegetables, but without salt or oil. As for fluids, the 25-year-old doesn't drink any beverage containing sugar, but only strictly filtered water. He also has a curious habit: he drinks two glasses of raw milk a day.
