Uber Eats Adds Restaurant Reservations Through OpenTable—Here’s How It Works

Uber Eats is launching restaurant reservations through OpenTable, allowing users to book tables, schedule rides, and claim dining deals all within the app. Set to debut in fall 2025, the new Dine Out feature offers exclusive perks for Uber One members.

Uber Eats isn’t just about bringing tacos to your doorstep anymore—they’re getting into the whole night-out game. Basically, Uber’s rolling out this shiny new “restaurant booking” gig inside the app, so you can actually nab a table at your fave spot, then line up a ride to get there, all without juggling a million apps. No more toggling between OpenTable, Maps, and Uber. Thank you, technology overlords.

Here’s the gist: it’s called the Dine Out feature, coming in hot fall 2025. There’s a special corner in the Uber Eats app where you can scroll through nearby restos, see which ones have open tables, and snag a reservation—all powered by OpenTable’s system. If you’re feeling extra, you can book an Uber straight to dinner right there too. Oh, and they’re sprinkling in some exclusive deals, especially if you’ve coughed up for Uber One. Perks, baby.

If you’re a hardcore OpenTable fan—like, you’ve made 12 bookings in a year (honestly, who hurt you?)—Uber’s throwing you a bone. You get a six-month Uber One membership trial for free, which means more chances to jump the reservation queue at hotspots that are booked-out weeks in advance.

Uber One members, in general, get the VIP treatment—priority for those tough-to-score tables, plus some sweet discounts to boot. And apparently, OpenTable loyalty points are gonna be redeemable for Uber/Eats discounts soon, so the two platforms are basically holding hands at this point.
