Walmart is officially taking on third-party food delivery apps with a major morning perk. Walmart announced an expanded restaurant delivery initiative partnering with Inspire Brands to bring Dunkin' menu items straight to the Walmart app and website. The integration allows eligible shoppers to order iced coffees, donuts, and breakfast sandwiches directly alongside their weekly grocery runs and household essentials.

Initial Launch and Nationwide Expansion Plans

The new delivery feature begins with Dunkin's 150 in-store tenant locations inside Walmart retail stores nationwide. However, the retail giant plans to scale the service rapidly to include standalone Dunkin' locations across the country. Key details of the delivery rollout include:

  • In-App Integration: Customers entering a delivery address in the Walmart app will automatically see a dedicated "Restaurants" tab when local Dunkin' stores are within range.
  • Combined Ordering: Shoppers can add Dunkin' drinks and baked goods into their cart while completing their standard grocery fulfillment orders.
  • Phased Rollout: Starting across existing in-store Dunkin' counters, the partnership will expand to cover thousands of standalone Dunkin' storefronts.
  • Last-Mile Logistics: Orders are fulfilled through Walmart's internal last-mile delivery network rather than relying on external third-party aggregators.

Challenging the Food Delivery Giants

This partnership marks Walmart's second major push into restaurant delivery, following a successful pilot with Subway in June 2026. By leveraging its vast store footprint and fulfillment infrastructure, Walmart aims to directly challenge established food delivery platforms like DoorDash and Uber Eats.

"The future of retail is about meeting customers wherever they are and simplifying their lives," said Greg Cathey, Senior Vice President of E-Commerce Fulfillment Transformation at Walmart. "By expanding restaurant delivery beyond our stores, we are offering a value and convenience proposition that is unmatched."

With coffee and donuts now joining the digital aisle, Walmart continues to transform its mobile app into a single destination for daily household needs.
