If you want to treat yourself to a satisfying midweek meal (without the hassle), this recipe is for you. In this article, we will show you how to pull off a complete meal of Air Fryer Crispy Chicken and Fries in no time. Chicken tenders are dipped into an egg wash and then coated with a breadcrumb and parmesan mixture. Once coated, the chicken tenders are fried until golden. Potato sticks are then fried in the same Airfryer until crispy and golden. Not only is it easy to make, but there are also fewer pots and pans to wash at the end of preparation. It’s a win-win for weeknights!



The cooked chicken tenders can be frozen for up to 3 months. Once cooled, simply place it in a Ziploc bag (in a single layer) and place it in the freezer. Let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven or the Airfryer.

Make the chicken tenders crispier by coating them in Panko breadcrumbs before air frying.

Use a variety of spices to create your own flavors of chicken strips.

If you want to make chicken nuggets instead, use chicken thigh fillets cut into smaller pieces.

Cut the chicken into tenders of even thickness to ensure they cook evenly.

Don’t overcook the chicken strips, otherwise, they will be dry.

While cooking the potatoes, you can also keep the chicken tenders warm in the oven.

The potato fries are best eaten immediately. But the fried chicken can be stored in the fridge for 5 days. Reheat in the Airfryer for a few minutes before serving.

How to Make Air Fryer Crispy Chicken

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin fries.

Soak the potato fries in cold water for an hour.

In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg, olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, and spices.

Add the chicken tenders and mix to combine.

In another bowl, whisk the breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese.

Dredge the tenders in the egg mixture then in the breadcrumb mixture, turning and pressing all sides to coat evenly. Spray both sides of the chicken with oil.

Preheat an air fryer to 180°C/350°F. Add chicken and cook for 25 minutes, flipping halfway, until cooked through, golden and crispy. If you have a small Airfryer, you will need to cook it in batches,

Set aside the chicken while you cook the potato fries. Dry the potatoes using a clean kitchen towel.

Place the potato fries in the Airfryer basket and spray with cooking spray. Bake at 200°C/400° for 20 minutes.

To reheat the fried chicken tenders, add them all to the Airfryer at once and heat for 2-3 minutes or until crispy and heated through.
