The biscuits with cream are crumbly and delicious, ideal for breakfast or a snack, dipped in a cup of milk or tea if you like. The dough is similar to that of shortcrust pastry but made with butter, sugar, flour, egg, baking powder and the addition of cream, which will give these shortbread biscuits a delicate and delicious taste, also perfect for your children. In our recipe we made small donuts, but you can give your biscuits the shape you like best. The preparation is really easy and fast: here's how to prepare them in a few steps.

How to prepare biscuits with cream

Put the butter in a bowl and add the sugar (1). Work the two ingredients with a hand whisk until a soft mixture is obtained (2). Add the egg and the cream and keep stirring. Also add the sifted flour and baking powder for desserts and mix until you will have obtained a smooth and homogeneous mixture (3). Wrap the mixture in clingfilm and let it rest in the refrigerator for half an hour.

After the necessary time has passed, put the dough on a lightly floured pastry board and roll it out with a rolling pin until it forms a sheet of about 3 millimeters (4). Make your biscuits with a 5 cm diameter pastry pan (5) and make a hole in the center with a smaller mold. Place the biscuits on a dripping pan lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C for about 15 minutes, or until they are lightly browned. Once ready, let them cool. Your biscuits with cream are ready to be enjoyed (6).

Tips

Those who prefer can add a sachet of vanillin or a bit of vanilla essence to the mixture of biscuits with cream. If you want to make them even more delicious, just add a handful of chocolate chips.

Liquid cream for desserts can be replaced with cooking cream, and in this case the dough may be thicker.

The dough for biscuits with cream can also be used as a base for tarts. In addition, you can make it in advance and freeze it, so you can have it ready when needed.

If you love soaking biscuits, then also prepare the delicious and genuine biscuits with milk, adding the potato starch.
