A roulade refers to a dish of rolled meat (or pastry) with a filling. It can refer to either a sweet or savory dish. This cheesy beef roulade is full-on savory! Made with ground beef, cheese, and ham, they’re as meaty as it gets. They’re baked until crispy on the inside but remain moist on the inside. Cheesy Beef Roulade Ingredients

Ground meat – you can use the classic Italian combination of beef and pork, or use other ground meats like chicken or turkey.

Parmesan – adds loads of flavor to the meat mixture!

Cheese – use a cheese that melts well, but also provides flavor; Provola, Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Gruyere will all work well.

Egg – acts as a binder

Ham – here you can use your favorite deli meat



You can add different fillings to this Cheesy Beefy Roulade. Try any of the following:

Add extra flavor to the ground beef by adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, BBQ sauce, or soy sauce.

One of the best ways to ensure good flavor is to use meats with a decent fat content.  So steer away from lean meat for this recipe.

Make sure to cook the roulade properly to avoid food poisoning. If the internal temperature reaches 160°F/71°C, it’s safe to consume.

How to Store Cheesy Beef Roulade

Store leftovers in an airtight container, in the fridge, for up to 3 days.

Can I Make Roulade in the Airfryer?

You can cook the roulade in the Airfryer. Place them in the Airfryer basket, then cook at 180°C for 20 minutes, turning halfway.

Can I Make It Ahead of Time?

To make these ahead: roll up the meat (uncooked), then cover it with plastic wrap and place the refrigerator. When you’re ready to serve, you can bake them, adding 5 minutes to the baking time.

Can You Freeze Beef Roulade?

Yes, you can! Prepare the beef roulade slices, then wrap each tightly with plastic wrap and transfer to a plastic Ziploc bag, Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator. Allow to thaw completely before baking.

What To Serve With Beef Roulade

Serve the roulade with any tasty sauce for dipping: creamy cheese sauce, peppercorn sauce, spicy tomato sauce, or a rich gravy.

Sides that work well with the roulades are fries or roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, potato salad, green beans, or steamed broccoli.

Mix together the meat, salt, and pepper. Add the egg, Parmesan cheese, and spices.


Spread out the ground beef on a sheet of parchment paper.


Cover it with cheese and ham


Roll it up and refrigerate for two hours.


Slice the roulade (about 1-inch pieces).


Place the slices on a baking sheet and bake at 180°C for 30 minutes.
