I also loved the fact that it can be prepared in mere 15 minutes from start to finish… In short, here you have a no fuss yet drool worthy corn dish.

What is creamed corn?

Creamed Corn is the perfect recipe for tasty and healthy side dishes; tender, sweet corn kernels wrapped in a thick velvety cream sauce. This simple recipe uses fresh ingredients you probably already have on hand to create a delicious and unique dish

The lovely flavors, creamy texture and crunch of the sweet corns make it a heavenly bite to savor. You may enjoy this lovely dish as a side to a man meal, top it over a toast or use it as a filling to bite in to a heavenly sandwich. The choice is yours!

And, if you happen to have any leftovers of this very rich and filling preparation then you just reheat it with about ¼ cup of drinking water and boil until the sauce base again turns thick and creamy in consistency. You will have the same rich and flavorful creamy corn before yourself to enjoy!

How to make creamed corn

Add the sweet corn kernels to a microwave safe bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of water to the corns, cover and microwave it for about 1½ minutes or until the sweet corns are almost half cooked.

Transfer the corns to a pan. Top it up with the heavy cream, salted butter, sugar, milk, water, and cook on low heat for 10 minutes or until the corns cook well while stirring continuously. Meanwhile, make the flour slurry by mixing the flour with water until well blended.

Pour the slurry in to the boiling corn mix and give the creamy milk mixture a couple of boils while stirring intermittently. Season the sweet corn with salt and black pepper powder.

Cook the corns on low flame until a nice thick saucy consistency is achieved.

Add grated cheese to the corn mixture and mix it well on low heat until the cheese melts. You may also adjust the seasoning, if required.

Serve the hot cream corn over a nicely browned toast and enjoy!


You may add about ½ cup of water more in case you find the liquid to be drying out in step 2.
