500 g
Mascarpone cheese
250 g
Ladyfingers
1 package
Sugar
60 g
Rum
30 ml
Coffee
150 ml
Pine nuts
60 g

Custard tiramisu is a delicious variant of the classic tiramisu, prepared with a custard cream enriched with mascarpone cheese, for a delicate and velvety final consistency, and pine nuts. Compared to the original recipe, neither raw eggs nor cocoa are used, for an equally irresistible result.

You can replace the ladyfingers with another biscuit of your taste and also add fresh fruit or chocolate chips. The custard cream can also be used alone and without mascarpone, so as to obtain a lighter dessert. Quick and easy, it can be served as a delicious snack or at the end of a special dinner. So let’s find out how to make it by following our simple recipe step by step.

Tips

You can flavor the custard with the seeds of a vanilla bean, grated citrus peel or a liqueur of your choice.

If you prefer, you can also add the toasted pine nuts between one layer and the other, to give a crunchy note, or enrich everything with dark chocolate chips.

For a lighter dessert, you can replace the mascarpone with cow's milk ricotta, robiola, a light spreadable fresh cheese or with natural Greek yogurt.

How to store Custard Tiramisu

Custard tiramisu can be stored in the refrigerator, covered on the surface with a sheet of cling film, for 2 days. Alternatively, it can be frozen for 1-2 months.

How to make Custard Tiramisu

Pour the cold custard into a bowl and add the mascarpone 1, sugar and rum. Mix perfectly.

Lightly wet the ladyfingers in the coffee, which you have mixed with the same amount of water, and arrange them on the bottom of a pan, aligning them and placing them tightly together 2.

Cover them with a generous layer of cream 3.

Continue until all the ingredients are used up, ending with a thick and uniform layer of cream 4.

Add the toasted pine nuts on the surface 5 and store the tiramisu in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Cut into slices and enjoy 6.
