How to make Easter Puff Pastry Treats

Prepare the custard. Collect the egg yolks in a bowl, add the granulated sugar (1) and beat well with a whisk.

Add the corn starch (2) and mix until homogeneous.

Heat the milk with the seeds of the vanilla pod, without bringing it to the boil. Pour a ladle over the egg yolks (3) and dilute well.

Pour the yolk-based mixture into the milk (4), put on the heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture will be thickened.

Pour the custard into a bowl (5), cover it with a sheet of cling film and let it cool in the refrigerator for an hour.

Roll out the puff pastry and with a dove-shaped cardboard cut out the shape, using the tip of a knife (6).

Transfer the puff pastry doves onto a baking tray, lined with a sheet of parchment paper, and brush them with the egg yolk, beaten with milk. Sprinkle them with a little powdered sugar (7) and then bake them in a ventilated oven at 160 degrees C for about 15 minutes.
