Eggs and red meat contain a polyunsaturated fatty acid known as arachidonic acid that can result in psoriatic lesions. So, one should avoid red meat, beef, bacon, sausage, processed red meats, and eggs.
People with psoriasis are usually sensitive to gluten, and consuming foods containing gluten can flare up this condition. Foods that one should avoid are wheat and wheat products, barley, rye, malt, sauces and condiments containing gluten, beer, malt beverages, processed foods containing gluten, and baked products containing wheat.
Consuming processed and high-calorie foods can trigger metabolic syndrome and inflammation. So, one should avoid processed meats, canned food products, pre-packaged food products, and other processed foods containing a high quantity of salt, fat, and sugar.
Consuming nightshade plants such as potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants has been found to trigger psoriasis. This is because nightshade plants contain solanine, which affects digestions and leads to inflammation.
