  • Tomatoes puree 2 and ½ cups
  • Olive oil 3 tbsp, extra virgin

  • Italian dried spices 1 tsp
  • Parmesan cheese 1 cup, grated
  • Mozzarella cheese 1 cup, grated
  • Parsley 2 tsp, fresh chopped

When one thinks about Italian food, it should include tomatoes, cheese and all those aromatic species, that make its flavor and smell so special. Although most people think meatballs are from Italy, when you search about its history, the data suggest that meatballs are in almost every country, and the way to prepare vary in each country. Some countries have versions influenced by them conquers, while other countries retain the traditional way the make their meatballs. There are made of fish, beef or vegetarian, but in my humble opinion, the beef version with the Italian seasoning are the most popular and tasty meatballs. This recipe we use those Italian characteristic flavors which make irresistible and it is almost sure most guest will ask for another portion when you prepare these meatballs for a meeting.  

Instructions

Prepare all the ingredients before starting. Take a large bowl and add the ground beef.Proceed to add the parmesan cheese and stir until the cheese and meat are evenly distributed.

Now add ½ cup of tomatoes puree (tomatoes puree usually includes tomatoes, garlic, onion salt and pepper to taste, you can try to do it by yourself or use a commercial version) and mix very well.Add the Italian spices and mix (Italian spices usually includes oregano, basil, thyme, marjoram, rosemary and sage, you can also add these separated and seasoning to taste).Proceed to form the meatballs in the size you like them. We suggest to form ten with the ingredients suggested for this recipe.Place a frying pan over medium-high heat and pour the olive oil.When oil is hot, add the meatballs and fry them for all sides. Now, when all the meat balls sides are browned retire from the frying pan in a bowl and retire the frying pan from the heat.

Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°FPut the meat balls in a refractory tray.Pour the rest of the puree.Add the mozzarella cheese and stir.Introduce the tray in the oven and bake the meatballs for about 20 minutes.Decorate with the parsley and serve hot.
