Raspberry (Rubus Idaeus) is one of the most popular berries: it is sweet and juicy and it has many healthy properties. It belongs to the Rosaceae family, it grows wild in the woods but we can also find it in the hilly areas. To grow well it needs a mild climate, and its ripening takes place between July and August. Among the raspberry varieties there are also black raspberries and yellow raspberries that differ mainly in size and color. These fruits are healthy, but also the leaves (harvested during summer, left to dry and then stored in glass jars) can be used for the preparation of infusions and decoctions with diuretic and astringent properties, and they are also useful to treat sore throat, gum inflammation, menstrual pains and diarrhea. These fruits are rich in vitamin A and vitamin C which make it a fruit with antioxidant power, and it also helps improve circulation and gives benefits the gastrointestinal tract. Therapeutic and nutritive properties of raspberry

Raspberry is a fruit rich in polyphenes useful for protecting and strengthening blood vessels; Vitamin C instead, strengthens the immune system, and helps fight inflammation of the respiratory tract. The raspberry is also used as a laxative and natural diuretic, and its infusion can be used to fight stomach pains, inflammations and febrile states. It is often recommended during pregnancy to provide the fetus with mineral salts, but it is also useful to relax the uterus by preparing the woman during childbirth.   • Raspberry helps to lose weight: raspberries have slimming properties because the fiber content increases the sense of satiety making us eat less, moreover the mineral salts help us to get rid of toxins and excess fluids, making us feel less swollen.
