Spanakopita is a classic Greek recipe. These Spanakopita Rolls give you the taste and texture of a classic recipe all in one bite. The rolls are perfect when enjoyed as an appetizer, snack, or even a light meal. And they’re sure to impress your guests. To make these spanakopita rolls, you will need a pack of store-bought puff pastry, frozen spinach, and feta cheese. The spinach is cooked with onion and garlic for extra flavor. The puff pastry is topped with the filling, sprinkled with feta cheese, then rolled up and sliced. Once baked, the rolls become flaky, while the filling is packed with flavor.

Tips

Add fresh herbs to the filling if you prefer (e.g., dill, parsley, and oregano).

If you don’t like the sharp taste of onions, you can also use scallions or chives.

For a classic Greek flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the filling.

You can substitute the feta cheese with ricotta. The filling will be less salty.

Baby spinach can be used instead of frozen spinach.

The Spanakopita Rolls can be cooked in the Airfryer! Place the rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, and air fry at 200°C/400°F for about 20 minutes until golden and cooked through.

To make the spanakopita rolls ahead of time, make the filling and assemble the puff pastry rolls. Place on a baking sheet. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Bake adding 5 to 10 minutes to the cooking time.

How To Store Spanakopita Rolls

Store the rolls in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or Airfryer for 10 minutes. Reheating them in the microwave will make them go soggy.

You can also freeze the rolls! Once assembled, place the uncooked rolls on a baking sheet and place them in the freezer for 2 hours. Transfer to a Ziploc bag, and freeze for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to bake them, add 10 – 15 minutes to the cooking time.
