These stuffed onion puffs are an easy recipe you can serve as an appetizer during a party, or combine it with a side salad. Enjoy it as a light lunch. The cheese and caramelized onion puffs are crispy on the outside and full of flavor and soft on the inside, with lots of stringy cheese.

To make the recipe, you first make your own dough with flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Then the dough is formed into a basket with onion and filled with more caramelized onions and cooked chicken cubes. The flavor is amazing! And the onion basket inside the dough adds just the right amount of crunch.

How To Make Stuffed Onion Puffs

Start by making dough. Mix together the milk, sugar, and yeast and set aside until frothy. Then mix it with egg and butter. Sift in the flour and salt, mix, and allow the dough to rise for an hour.

In the meanwhile clean the onions. Leave the outer layer whole, and chop up the inside of the onion. Cook the onion until caramelized, then cook the chicken cubes. Roll out the dough and form a dough basket around the onion layer.

Fill the basket with the chicken and caramelized onion. Brush the dough baskets with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake until golden.
