This is one of those delicious recipes that can be eaten as a snack, over a bed of fresh vegetable salad, or as a side dish… any time of the day and throughout the year.

You may also partially prepare this dish in advance and then just do the final baking step before you plan to serve to the guests.

Surprisingly, this dish is loved by children as it is pretty simple to eat! So, just gather the ingredients and prepare this very simple to prepare dish for people of all ages

Instructions:

Carefully slice the tofu in to thin rectangles of even size and put them all in a bowl. Grate the garlic cloves over the tofu slices and top it with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, white wine, sliced basil leaves, salt, black pepper powder, and paprika. Mix everything well and coat the tofu slices in the spice mixture carefully. Cover the bowl and marinate the tofu in a refrigerator for up to an hour at least.

Heat oil for frying on medium flame. Meanwhile, mix the crumbs with grated parmesan until the two are well blended. Now, once the oil is hot pick one tofu slice and first drench it in to the flour and then dip it in the beaten egg, and finally coat it well with the bread crumbs mixture. Repeat this process with all the tofu slices and then deep fry tofu until it is golden brown on all sides. Remove the fried tofu on to a paper napkin. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C and put tomato sauce in a baking dish.

Arrange the tofu slices over the tomato sauce with fried slices slightly overlapping with one another. Evenly cover it with the grated mozzarella and then cover the dish with an aluminum foil, and bake the tofu for 10 minutes. Uncover the baking dish and bake it for another 5 minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!

Tips

– Do not break the tofu slices while you coat the tofu in to the spice mixture.

– You may refrigerate and marinate tofu for up to 5 to 6 hours as well.

– Do not over fry the tofu slices.
