Instant noodles are a very popular and quick food product amongst people with a busy lifestyle and belonging to college group. Here is a read on all the ingredients present in the instant noodles that may affect our health.

MSG. MSG is used as a flavor enhancer in various instant noodles that have been linked to weight gain, high blood pressure, headache, and nausea. Some studies have also associated MSG to inflammation and killing of mature brain cells.

Sodium. Most packs of instant noodles are loaded with extremely high amount of sodium, which may increase the blood pressure, deters heart health, and increase the risk of stroke, osteoporosis, heart problem, kidney disease, and stomach cancer.

Trans and saturated fats. Both of these kinds of fats increase the risk of heart problems as they raise the LDL cholesterol level and lower the HDL cholesterol level in the blood.

Palm oil. Palm oil increases the risk of heart problems in some people, particularly when it is reheated.

White flour. Bleached white flour or maida is a highly processed ingredient that is difficult to digest, slows down digestion, leads to weight gain, increases stress, and symptoms of migraine.

TBHQ. Tertiary-butyl hydroquinone is the toxic preservatives that are difficult to digest and stay in the stomach for a very long time.

BPA. If these instant noodles are served in plastic or styrofoam cups then there are chances of this food product to be contaminated by BPA (bisphenol-A), which has a carcinogenic effect and negatively affects the activity of estrogen hormone in our body.
