Instructions

First preheat the oven to 180°C / 350 °F. Take two molds for bread or cake and grease them with some butter, oil or cooking spray, and then flour them. Take now a medium bowl and add the flour, baking powder and salt, and mix them very well. Sift the mixture in a second bowl and preserve. Now in a large bowl add the sugar, egg yolks and butter and beat them up with the help of an electric mixer. Then, keep beating up and add the flour, little by little to prevent the formation of lumps. When you have already added all the flour to the dough, keep beating up, at medium speed, for 2 more minutes, making sure all the ingredients are well mixed.

Add the poppy seeds, almond extract, and the vanilla and keep beating up for one minute. Share the dough in two parts and add them to the previously prepared molds. Introduce the molds in the oven and bake for about 1 hour or until when you introduce a toothpick in the middle of the mold it comes out dry. Retire from the oven and let cool before taking out from the molds (about 10 minutes could be enough). Remove your breads from the molds and place them on a rack in order to let them cool completely Finally, when they have cooled they are ready to be sliced and served.
