Ingredients For Banana French Toast Roll Ups

Bread – use store-bought bread, with crusts sliced off.

Bananas – use ripe bananas for extra sweetness.

Sugar – use white or brown granulated sugar.

How To Make Banana French Toast Roll Ups

Start by making the banana puree. Cook the sliced bananas with butter and brown sugar, until it becomes soft. Use a roller to flatten the bread slices. Fill it with the banana mixture and fry it until golden. Cover with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

Can you make Banana French Toast Roll Ups ahead of time?

If you want to make this ahead of time, you can prepare the ingredients beforehand and then bake the roll ups just before serving. Cook the banana puree, cool, and refrigerate. Flatten the bread, and store it at room temperature in an airtight container.

Feel free to add Nutella (hazelnut cream) or peanut butter to the filling.

Serve the French Toast Roll Ups with fresh berries, whipped cream, and a drizzle of honey.

For dessert, you can also add ice cream, crushed nuts, or a drizzle of maple syrup.

To prevent sogginess, you must soak the bread long enough just until the slices are coated with the egg mixture.

It’s important to cook over medium heat, and not over high heat. This will make sure that the edges become crispy, without burning.

The Roll Ups can also be made in the Airfryer. Place the roll ups in the Airfryer basket, and cook for 6 minutes at 320°F, turning halfway.

To make the custard dip without eggs, you can whisk together ½ cup milk, 1 tbsp cornstarch, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and ¼ tsp ground cinnamon.

How To Store Banana French Toast Roll Ups

You can store the Banana French Toast Roll Ups in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat it in the oven at 375°F for 10 minutes.

You can also freeze it, simply wrap the cooled rolls in parchment paper, then add another layer of aluminum foil. Freeze for up to 2 months.
