The bunuelos I could eat them all year, they are very rich and for them there is a great variety of sweet and salty companions, making them and eating them takes me to those years of my childhood when my mother prepared them and I was waiting for them with great joy because I knew that what I would eat would be a delicacy full of love. This recipe is spread all over the world and in each place is elaborated in a different way, using different types of flour, but its essence remains the same, those little balls inflated with flour that make smiles to everyone who has the happiness of tasting them. In this opportunity I will share with you a very simple way to make donuts so that both you and yours can enjoy this delight, let's do it!

Instructions

The first step before preparing a dough is to activate the yeast; this allows to verify that the yeast is in good condition and that following the steps of the recipe this will turn out well. In the case of "bunuelos" it is very important that the mixture sponge so that they float when frying them and they are spongy.

To start with the "fritters", heat 1/4 cup of milk in the microwave oven for 10 seconds, in the milk dilute the yeast and a tablespoon of sugar. This mixture should stand at least 15 minutes in a room at room temperature, if it is slightly warm, better. After 15 minutes this mixture must have doubled in size and be full of bubbles. Otherwise, it is possible that the yeast is in poor condition and requires another. If the yeast is active, mix the flour with the yeast and the rest of the milk. Then, add the egg and continue mixing with a wooden spoon. To finish the dough, add the sugar, the cornstarch, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, the anise extract and the lemon rind, mix and they are ready to fry. If the mixture is very liquid, you add a little more flour, this should not exceed 1/2 cup. If you like fluffy, separate the mixture in about 20 spheres and let them rest and grow for half an hour more in a tray covered with waxed paper or a silicone blanket.

Put in a pan plenty of sunflower oil at medium temperature. When it is hot with the help of two spoons, put the bunuelos to fry. When you are golden brown for all sides, place them on a plate with absorbent paper. When they are still hot, place them on a plate and cover them with sugar.
