This is an easy, decadent brownie recipe made with the classic Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Ferrero Rocher chocolates are sweet treats made from chocolate and hazelnut, produced by the Italian company called Ferrero. They are handcrafted and each ball is wrapped in foil and placed in a golden, shiny paper liner. These Ferrero Rocher Brownies are rich in chocolate, and taste deliciously fudgy. They look fancy but are easy to make.
Mix the wet ingredients, the dry ingredients, then mix them together. Add the Ferrero Rocher chocolates and baked them until golden. As easy as that! With a few pantry staples (like cocoa, flour, sugar, etc.) and Ferrero Rocher treats, you can whip a batch of brownies in a matter of minutes!
Chocolate – use high-quality semi-sweet chocolate chips. If you’re in a pinch and can’t find chocolate chips, you can also use a bar of chocolate.
Butter – both salted and unsalted butter will work with this recipe. Alternatively, you can use oil.
Sugar – use granulated white sugar (dark brown sugar tastes too strong)
Egg – you one large egg (see below for egg substitutions)
Flour – all-purpose flour will work for this recipe.
Hazelnuts – you can also use pecan nuts almonds.
This brownie recipe is quick and easy. First, melt the chocolate chips and butter and whisk until smooth. Add the egg, sugar, and vanilla and mix again. Sift the dry ingredients into this mixture and whisk until just combined (don’t overmix, otherwise, the brownie will be too dense!).
Transfer to a baking tray lined with parchment paper, and add the Ferrero Roches. Don’t forget to line the baking tin with parchment paper otherwise, the brownie will stick! Bake until cooked through.
Serve the Ferrero Rocher Brownies with your favorite ice cream, or with whipped cream!
If you want to leave out the egg, you can substitute it with a flax egg (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoon water) or ½ a medium Banana, mashed or ¼ cup (4 tablespoons) apple sauce or ¼ cups yogurt/buttermilk.
Want to add more hazelnut flavor? Add a few tablespoons of Nutella (or another hazelnut spread) to the batter before baking.
For a lazy, short-cut version, use a brownie cake and add the Ferrero Roche chocolates before baking.
Want more texture? Add chocolate chips, pecan nuts, or walnuts to the brownie batter.
For moister brownies, you can use oil instead of butter. To prevent cakey brownies (and make them fudgier), add more butter!
For a more pronounced chocolate flavor, add a teaspoon of instant coffee to the batter!
The Ferrero Rocher Brownies can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the fridge for up to a week. Heat it in the microwave for a few seconds before serving.
Place the chocolate chips in a large mixing bowl, and add the butter.
Melt the butter and chocolate in the microwave for 3 minutes. Whisk to combine. Then add the sugar and stir again.
Add the egg and vanilla, and mix to combine.
Sift in the baking powder, baking soda, flour, and cocoa in the chocolate mixture.
Transfer the batter to a baking tray lined with baking paper. The batter will be thick. Use a spatula to even out the batter in the baking tin.
Place the Ferrero Roche chocolates on top of the brownies, pressing them slightly into the batter.
Sprinkle with hazelnuts and bake at 350°F/180°C for 20 minutes.
Test the brownie for doneness by using a metal or wooden skewer. Stick it into the brownie—if it comes out clean, the brownie is ready!
