Southern pimento cheese is a quick, easy dipping sauce recipe that is very popular in Southern homes. Enjoy it during a barbecue with crunchy appetizers like chips, tortillas, vegetable sticks, or as a spread for grilled sandwiches or meat.

It is a subtle hint of spice over a creamy base will tantalize your palate with such a lovely flavor and taste. To make this great Souther pimento cheese, simply mix shredded cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, ketchup, pepper and salt in a bowl to try a creamy, flavorful dip. 


If desired, you may alter the spice content to your preference by adding or reducing the hot sauce quantity.

Nothing beats the cheese you grate yourself. If you don't have time, you can also use pre-shredded cheese.

For more flavor, you can add garlic and onion powder, or even jalapeños.

You can leave out cream cheese if you want, but the sauce will be less creamy.

How to make Southern Pimento Cheese


In a bowl, add the shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese and whisk the ingredients using a fork or a whisk for 5 minutes or until smooth. Blend in the mayonnaise, ketchup, and chili sauce until well combined. Stir in the pimento and mix well. Season the dip with salt and black pepper powder.
