It may seem hard to believe however Emily in Paris and McDonald’s entered a collaboration that saw the rise of a new McDonald’s special. McDonald’s is known for its flawless burgers but this time, the fast food chain was woven into the show’s plot and the treat featured for that purpose has become available in reality too.

The Plot

In the third season, Emily receives a call from her former lover, Doug, who has become a global executive for McDonald’s. And he came bearing good tidings: The fast food chain was on the lookout for a French marketing agency to launch the McBaguette and he wants Emily to take care of it.

At the same time, her boss, Sylvie is in the market for what she described as a “sexy new client in the luxury space” to pair with the startup of her new agency. Because McDonald’s did not seem like the sort of partner she had in mind, she was a little hesitant to partner up with them but Emily set out to prove her wrong.

One visit to McDonald’s had Emily certain it was a great decision and she tried to sell the idea to Sylvie. Unfortunately, the deal did not happen thanks to a rather chaotic client dinner at the Eiffel Tower and the McBaguette is never brought up again throughout the season.

Of course, there is no need to get antsy. Because the McBaguette now lives on off the show’s set.

The clause

The France branch of McDonald’s now offers a special meal that comes with french fries, and two macarons, a medium-sized drink, and the McBaguette. The McBaguette has been steadily gaining popularity since the third season kicked off but it was first served by McDonald’s French branches in 2012.

Since then, it has occasionally popped up on the menu through the last decade. The McBaguette contains two burger patties, two slices of Emmental cheese, Lettuce, and French mustard.

The unfortunate condition is that the McBaguette is only available in France.
