Pregnancy is definitely the most beautiful phase in every woman’s life that is accompanied by many physiological changes as well. The first few signs of change in the body are the growing belly and constant itching in several regions of the body, primarily belly and breasts. Thankfully, there are many natural remedies to control this irksome itch to let you be calm and less irritable.


 Add a cup of oatmeal to the water-filled bathtub and soak in it for 20 minutes. The anti-inflammatory and antipruritic properties of oatmeal help to reduce the itchiness and inflammation of the skin.

Coconut oil

Massage your belly with organic coconut oil and clean it off after 30 to 40 minutes to moisturize and soothe the itchy skin.

Aloe vera gel

Massage the affected area with little aloe vera gel and clean it off after 30 40 minutes to soothe the itchy skin.

Baking soda

Add a cup of baking soda to the water-filled bathtub and soak in it for 20 minutes. It will help to balance the alkalinity of the skin and reduce itchiness.

Essential oils

Add 12 drops of rose geranium oil or juniper oil to 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and apply it over the affected area. Clean it after 30 minutes of application to get relief from persistent itching of the skin.

Cold compress

Place cold compress for 5 minutes on the affected area. Repeat it for 3 times after an interval of few minutes to get relief from swelling and itching.

Lemon juice


Mix the juice of 1 lemon with a ¼ cup of water and apply it over the affected area for 20 minutes.

Dandelion root

Boil a cup of water with 2 tablespoons of dandelion roots. Simmer it for 5 minutes and then strain it. Apply this mixture over the affected area and let it dry to soothe the inflammation and itching of the skin.

Gram flour

Add enough yogurt to make a smooth paste with a tablespoon of gram flour. Apply it on the affected space and let it dry. This will help to get rid of skin irritation, itchiness, and inflammation.

Juniper berry lotion

Apply some juniper berry lotion on the affected area for this powerful anti-inflammatory ingredient to relieve itchiness.

Calamine lotion

It contains zinc oxide and ferric oxide that offer antiseptic and anti-itching benefits.
