Read on to know about a few essential oils that can effectively relieve sunburn!

Exposing the skin too much under the direct sunlight or any other form of UV light results in sunburn. We all love to wear less during the summer heat, which increases the chances of our skin coming in direct contact with sunlight and results in extensive tanning of the skin.

To prevent this condition use some of the natural and non-toxic sunscreen alternatives that can both protect your skin from harmful solar radiations and enhance your skin health. However, in case you still get a mild sunburn, use these essential oils to naturally treat this condition.

Remember to never apply any of these oils before or while stepping out in the sun. Also, use half of the dilution of any of the following remedies for children, people with sensitive skin, pregnant and lactating women, and elderly.

Lavender essential oil

Apply a mixture of this essential oil with sandalwood essential oil, Roman chamomile, and aloe vera gel to find relief from sunburn.

Benzoin essential oil

Mix it with lavender essential oil and some unscented white lotion to soothe the skin affected with sunburn.

Helichrysum essential oil

It also offers anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and anti-microbial benefits. Blend it with geranium essential oil, aloe vera gel, and lavender essential oil and then apply it over the area with sunburn to give it a cooling effect.

Sandalwood essential oil

Combine it with lavender essential oil, rose essential oil, and apricot kernel oil and then apply it topically over the skin with sunburn.
