Using fruits in your skin care regime is one of the most natural ways to treat the sensitive skin on your face.

Fruits like bananas, avocado, orange and even dried fruits and nuts such as raisins, cashews and almonds can be used to create a soothing and beneficial facial treatment.

1. Banana Face Mask to Reduce Acne Scars

Bananas are sometimes referred to as “nature’s Botox” in the beauty world, and that’s because of the skin benefits they contain. Bananas are full of vitamins, zinc, iron and minerals that can help the skin to retain its elasticity and reduce the appearance of scars.

Mash up one ripe banana, squeeze one tsp lemon juice, and 1tsp of honey in a bowl. Add ¼ cup rolled oats and mix well. Apply to the face with a facial brush and leave on for 15 minutes. Wipe your face clean with water and a cotton cloth.

2. Avocado Face Mask for Youthful Skin

Avocados are full of age-fighting antioxidants, and they are used a lot in skincare products due to the vitamins and minerals they contain.

Mash half an avocado in a bowl, add 1 tbsp honey, and the juice of half a lemon. Mix well, and apply to the face with a facial brush. Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse off and dry face gently. Use regularly for fresh, glowing skin.

3. Fruit Facial for Dry Skin

You can create bespoke fruit facials at home using banana gel, almond gel and strawberry. Bananas are rich in vitamin C and B6, which help in maintaining skin elasticity, while almond gel acts as an exfoliator. Strawberry can also help in reducing skin pigmentation, and all these face masks will give fresh, glowing skin.

Cleanse the skin with banana gel, then wipe off with a cotton cloth. Add almond gel and rub around the skin gently for 5-10 minutes. Wipe off and cleanse again using a banana cleanser, then wipe clean again.

Mix almond powder, walnut powder and saffron, and rub gently to exfoliate the skin. Wipe clean and apply a strawberry face pack and leave on for 20 minutes. Wipe off with a damp cotton cloth, and apply a little rose water to the skin.

4. Orange Face Mask to Remove Blackheads

Blackheads, which are a build up of dead skin cells and sebum in the pores, can be hard to get rid of and unsightly.

An orange and lime juice mask can help in tightening the skin and has astringent properties. This mask also helps with scars, blemishes and pigmentation.

Squeeze the juice of 1 orange, and add 1 tsp fresh lime or lemon juice. Mix up and apply to the face, then wipe off.

5. Dry Fruit and Nut Facial

Each dry fruit or nut comes with its own set of benefits. Raisins are rich in resveratrol, which can help in the fight against skin aging, almonds give glowing skin and help to prevent acne. Cashews can help prevent over tanning, and walnuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which help improve skin texture.

Cleanse the face well. Apply orange and lemon gel and leave on for 10 minutes, then clean the face with a cotton cloth. Use a walnut scrub to exfoliate the dead skin cells, then wipe clean. Make a paste using ground almonds, ground walnuts and saffron, and add a little rose water and neem. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes, then wipe off and spray some rose water on to the skin. Wipe off.
