Generally, people who are aiming to lose weight dread the sight of a weighing scale. However, according to recent research stepping on weighing scale every day helps to shed pounds. This study was conducted by a team of researchers at the University of Georgia where they observed the behavior of 111 adult participants between the age group of 18 to 65 years from mid-November 2017 to early January 2018.
The scientists in this study found that people maintain or lose weight better when they weigh themselves every day. This could be a result of getting a reminder on a daily basis regarding the change in body weight, both increase and decrease. This reminder somehow works as a motivator for the people to adjust their behavior towards food, appetite, and exercise.
Which means, people may eat more cautiously and exercise more dedicatedly on being aware of their daily physical transformation. Scientists warned that people who didn’t weigh themselves every day felt no pressure to adjust their behavior. And, regularly checking body weight puts the subjects on a self-select mode where they try their best to stay on track regarding the weight loss plan.
