Simple Syrup

For the non-alcoholic syrup you will need water, a lemon zest, a vanilla pod and some sugar: add the lemon zest and vanilla to the water and let it steep for 30 minutes. After this time, bring all the ingredients into a saucepan, add the sugar and stir over a low heat until the sugar has melted. Take care that the water does not come to boil. Remove from the heat and filter your  syrup with a sieve.

Liquor Syrup

In a saucepan add water and sugar and stir. Bring the saucepan to the heat and cook on a low heat until the sugar has melted, at this point remove the pan from the heat and add the small glass of rum, stir until your emulsion is blended, let it cool before use it for your cake. As an alternative to rum you can use a small glass of cointreau.

Milk Syrup

In a saucepan, add the water, milk and sugar: cook over low heat, stirring until the sugar has melted. Be careful that the ingredients do not come to boil. Transfer the syrup to a container and wait for it to cool before using it.

Coffee Syrup

Add the water and sugar in a saucepan: cook over low heat, stirring until the sugar has completely melted, then remove from the heat and add the coffee, stirring constantly until you get a homogeneous syrup.
