Banana is certainly the breakfast savior for so many people to fill their appetite while they are running late for work. After all, it is way better to eat something than going to the office with an empty stomach or picking some high sugar meal on the way to the office.

However, one of the recent research has shown that eating a banana for breakfast is not the best thing to do. This is because banana can actually harm our body if eaten as a breakfast substitute as this fruit comprises of 25% sugar and is moderately acidic in nature. So, eating banana can definitely give a temporary energy boost but the person will feel tired and hungry soon after, which can lead to overeating. However, it must be known that this is suggested by the promoters of the alkaline diet.

The same group of people have also found a way to tackle this problem. They suggest that one can combine this fruit with some healthy fats, herbs, and spices that will help to counter the insulin spike after eating bananas. So, food such as almonds, coconut butter, flax seed, hemp seeds, and chia seeds should be added along with a banana to neutralize the acid of banana and yet allow you to enjoy benefits of other nutrients present in this wholesome fruit, such as potassium, magnesium, and fiber.
